Government grant funding to boost cyber security skills

The economic development team at Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) have just received the following grant funding news, which may be of interest to some members. Although the deadline mentioned is 14 April – this is to simply to register an ‘expression of interest’.
“We are pleased to inform you about the Cyber Local programme, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and delivered by Innovate UK (IUK). This scheme offers grants to UK registered organisations for projects targeting cyber skills and innovation to grow the cyber security sector.
Key Details:
- Maximum Grant Value: £150,000
- Application Deadline: 14/03/2025
- Eligibility: UK registered businesses, academic institutions, RTOs, charities, not-for-profits, and public sector organisations.
Objectives:
- Support the growth of cyber security ecosystems.
- Promote partnerships between industry, public sector, and academia.
- Increase cyber security skills and career opportunities, especially for underrepresented communities.
Requirements:
- Projects must address regional cyber security challenges.
- Must be delivered in one of the nine English regions.
- Duration: 3 or 6 months, ending before 31 March 2026.”
