31 Jul Dawn’s Diaries
July is ending and to quote a famous newspaper ‘phew what a scorcher’! Well it certainly was for a moment or two. Let’s hope that August brings some more sunshine, although from where I sit it’s looking a little changeable! Never mind, the town is looking beautiful at the moment whatever- the- weather, helped in no small part by the groups who regularly arrange litter picks. We are fortunate to have so many community minded people living in and around the town and also a number of local businesses who support them in their endeavours. I would like to thank them all; as a resident and as someone who spends their working life promoting the town.
There is always so much going on in and around East Grinstead and August is no different. it would be impossible to know about everything, however with this monthly round up I will highlight many of the great events coming up and give you some dates for your diaries. Hopefully there will be no excuses to miss a thing. There will also be a few pointers as to where to look for things to do and perhaps some of you will advise us at the tourist information desk, of any events that you are involved with that we should pass on and encourage people to attend.
Don’t forget that Sackville College is open to the public Thursdays to Sundays https://www.sackvillecollege.org.uk/, look through the latest Chequer Mead programme http://www.chequermead.org.uk/, take some time to visit the Morris and Co exhibition at the stunning Standen NT property https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/standen-house-and-garden, visit East Grinstead Museum and take a town tour or attend the children’s activity days https://www.eastgrinsteadmuseum.org.uk/ and find out what special events are on at the Bluebell Railway especially the Teddy Bear’s picnic https://www.bluebell-railway.com/.
And If you have any time left here are some dates for your diaries.
