MSDC Emergency Plan

As Chairman of the Emergency Planning Liaison Group I am pleased to say that these meetings are well supported by both councillors and officers from across Mid Sussex. We also enjoy the support of Sussex Police, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services, NHS, Red Cross, Met Office and other experts on a regular basis.

The Mid Sussex Emergency Plan has recently undergone an annual update and can be found at:

West St safety

The safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists along a narrow stretch of West St has long been a concern.  WSCC traffic engineers have developed a scheme which includes raised tables, rather than humps. They will be similar to those in London Rd and are designed to reduce speed without causing disturbing noise for nearby residents.

Cllr Jacquie Russell carried out a consultation exercise with West St residents located between Queens Way and Pavilion Way. Support for the scheme was high and subject to finances being made available, it is hoped this project will proceed.
