EGBA has a new MSDC Representative

At a recent meeting of Council representatives for a variety of outside bodies were agreed. Cllr Stephen Hillier, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, is to represent Mid Sussex District Council on the EGBA Executive Committee.

Cllr John Belsey, as the new Cabinet Member for Environment and Service Delivery, will represent MSDC at Action in Rural Sussex and will attend Sussex Police and Crime Panel should I be unable.

As Community Cabinet Member I will continue to attend the Sussex Police and Crime Panel. In addition, I will represent MSDC on the WSCC Forum for Accessible Transport and the West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board.

More Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCPs)

At a meeting of MSDC Cabinet in April it was resolved to increase the number of EVCPs to 26 across the District. Some will be in rural locations but East Grinstead will have 2 installed at Queens Way (Iceland Car Park), Vicarage Road and at Norton House. Usage of the current 2 EVCPs at Chequer Mead Car Park has increased substantially as more EVs are being brought to market.

Negotiations are underway to have these installed, subject to installation of suitable cabling.

What are Gatwick Airport’s plans to reduce the number of aircraft flying over East Grinstead and the related noise particularly in the morning between 0600 and 0900.. Flights taking off over East Grinstead are disproportionate to other routes at this time of the day and appear to consist of noisier (old?) machines…
