Proposed road improvements for the A22 and A264? Have your say!

Surrey County Council and West Sussex County Council are exploring proposals to improve travel along the A22 and A264 corridors between Godstone, Copthorne and East Grinstead. They want to improve safety, reduce congestion, and support more bus and active travel in the area.

As part of a public engagement exercise stakeholders, including residents, visitors, and businesses of all sizes, are invited to input on issues, objectives and emerging proposals for the area through an online survey.

Improvements

The types of improvements that they are considering along the A22 / A264 corridors include:

  • junction capacity improvements
  • bus priority and bus stop improvements
  • walking and cycling path improvements
  • crossing facilities for all users
  • road safety improvements including junction modifications, safety barriers and speed limit changes

Have your say

You can find out more by visiting https://a22-a264.commonplace.is/ where you can take part by completing the survey and commenting on an interactive map.

They are keen to hear from people and organisations who may be affected by the proposals being considered to help them to develop specific designs. If they decide to progress the improvements, these designs would then be presented as part of future consultations.

Complete the online survey by 23 December 2025 to share your views and help shape the plans to ensure they meet the needs of our local community.
