Mid Sussex District Council have a very good Business & Licensing support section on their website, which includes a regular business newsletter highlighting business activities and opportunities in the District. Historically MSDC have operated a generous business grants system via Micro Business Grants ( up to £ 2,000 ) , Community grants ( up to £ 5,000 ) and larger Capital Facility grants.

With the new administration and civic year just starting , we are waiting to see what overall allocations will be made for the 2023 / 24 year – and these details will be published in the coming months.

  • East Grinstead Business Association have a very close stakeholder partner relationship with East Grinstead Town Council , and Mid Sussex District Council.
  • We have good access to our local elected representatives and senior officers – and they regularly attend EGBA events. Members and non members can take advantage of their views and early advice on business related community matters such as planning , grants , licensing , business rates , networking and promotion.

EGBA have been working very closely with EGTC and Sussex Police since last year to improve communications and police response to High street retail and general business security concerns. It is very pleasing to see that on 15 May Sussex Police have launched the new DISC on-line business reporting system whereby businesses can communicate directly with Sussex Police to confidentially share intelligence information and report any security issues. The EGBA can help businesses to register for this free service.
